Nigerian Psychological Association Pay Courtesy 
Visit On The A’Ks Commissioner of Police

Based on the for effective impartation of peaceful society,
 the Nigerian Psychological Association, NPA an
 apex professional regulatory body in Nigeria which 
is responsible for development, promotion and application
 for psychology for public interest has paid a courtesy visit 
 on the Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State command, 
Mr. Kimo at his office, state police headquarters Ikot Akpan Abia Uyo.
In attendance with the CP were; DCP Chucks Enwuonwu;

 DCP Yekini Ayoku; ACP Gabriel Akon and DSP Odiko Macdon
 the PPRO, while on the side of the visitors were chairman NPA,
 Senior lecturer University of Uyo, Dr. Iboro Otti, secretary,
 Mr. Moses Imbur, national publicity secretary Dr. Mfon Ineme, 
other were vice chairman, Regina Celement Akpan Phd,
 Enwougo Abayomi Okediji financial secretary/ treasurer,
 Mfon Effiong Usoh state publicity secretary, the rest were
 Rev.SR. Theresa Eke, DC MNPA, Thompson T. Ikpe and 
Asso. Prof. Abikoye Emmanuel Gboyega.
Addressing the gathering, the chairman NPA, Dr. Ottu said

 that “the visit is based on the role of psychologist the world over, 
that the knowledge of psychology is needed in every segment of a 
larger society especially the nuclear communities.” He went further to
 state that “we are happy to be associated with the police as an organ
 of government to ensure a peaceful society mostly as we approach 
the election year” he also thanked the police for paying with their 
lives to keep the country safe and input that “ they are ready to 
partner and support the force in her duties, especially in this
 period of the country’s general elections”.
In his response, CP Koni welcomed the visitors to his

 converted office and assured the visitors that “ the interest 
of the police is largely for peace and security” he also made
 a brief introduction that the police is an agency for driving 
of peace and security to larger society. He also promised to remain

to remain non partisan at all times and assured the visitors to be civil in his response to any disorder. That the Akwa Ibom Police command remain one of the most polite and humane in its civil responsibilities.
However, the CP took time to give a genealogy of his activities since his arrival to assume duties, but regretted the critical imposition of politicians in security affairs of the state.
The high point of the visit was filling of the visitors registers by NPA members and presentation of vote of thanks by Dr. Ineme who appeal for synergy between the Akwa Ibom State police command and NPA. The closing prayers were said by Rev. SR. Eke.
